ゲームロフト社、Unreal Engine 3を使用し4本の新作ゲームを開発 2011年2月28日、於パリ – ダウンロード型ゲームの開発・配信における世界的リーディングカンパニーであるゲームロフト社は、本日、Epic Games社との長期のマルチプラットフォームライセンス契約を発表いたしました。この契約により、ゲームロフト社は「Unreal Engine 3」を4本の新作ゲームに搭載することができます。このうち2本は2011年にリリース、もう2本は2012年にリリース予定です。ゲームロフト社のプロダクション担当・上席副社長、ジュリアン・フルニアルは、「ゲームロフトはEpic Games社とのパートナーとなることを大変喜ばしく思っています。彼らはどんな時も最高のゲームエンジンをゲームデベロッパーのもとに届け続け、常に最先端にあり続ける力を持っていますから。」とコメント。「Unreal Engine 3により、目覚ましいライティングや再現性の高い背景など、ゲームのビジュアルを強化することができます。プレイヤーの皆様にはUnreal Engine 3を使用したゲームを楽しんでいただけると確信しております。」と述べました。 Epic Games社の副社長マーク・レイン氏は「Unreal Engine 3を使った4本のゲームが視覚的に素晴らしいものとなること、そしてパワフルな携帯ゲーム端末の機能を活かすものとなることは間違いないでしょう。」と表明し、「私どもの技術をゲームロフト社へ供給することに期待で胸を膨らませています。長く続くコラボレーションとなることを楽しみにしています。」と述べました。ゲームロフト社は本契約のもと、iOS、Android、PlayStation®Network、セットトップボックスを含む、数々の携帯型・ダウンロード型プラットフォームに向けてゲームを配信する予定です。
